John Hughes BDS (N.Z)
John Hughes graduated from Otago University in New Zealand. He started practice in the UK in 1973 in Ealing.
He purchased the Strand On The Green Dental Practice with John Zinzan in 1984 and since developed the practice as it is today.
John has always had a great interest in cosmetic Dentistry as well as Preventitive and Restorative.
John enjoys Rugby, Squash and Sailing both competitively and for recreation.
Marc Hughes BDS (Wales)
Marc graduated from the University of Wales Dental School in 2000. He has worked in General Practice in Cardiff from 2000-2007 and at the Strand on the Green Practice since May 2006.
Marc has attended many postgraduate courses and seminars to keep up to date with the latest developments and treatments.
He is currently participating in the Paul Tipton Advanced Restorative year course in Manchester.
Marc has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry, crown and bridgework as well as tooth whitening.
He enjoys rugby, tennis, squash, boxing and travel.
Lucinda L Brown BDS (Hons)
Lucinda qualified in 1988 from the Royal London Hospital (University of London)
She initially took a hospital position but decided to move into General Practice in 1989.
Lucinda has been at the Strand on the Green Practice since 1993.
She regularly attends courses in London to keep up to date with current trends and materials.
Lucinda is married with three children and has numerous animals at the family home.
Her hobbies include films, soduku and travel.
Mark Harbottle BDS BSc
Mark initially gained a BSc in Biotechnology and Business Studies at Queen Mary's (university of London) before attending Guy's Dental Hospital from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1998.
He has predominantly spent the last 9 years working in private general dental practice always striving to achieve excellence in his field. Mark has worked at the Strand on the Green dental practice since 2002 providing a wide range of services to patients of all ages including cosmetic dentistry and tooth whitening, restoration of teeth with a variety of quality materials including, white inlays and onlays and porcelain/ceramic crowns, bridges and veneers.
Mark is committed to regularly attending post graduate courses in order to be at the forefront of the latest dental techniques and therefore offer a high quality up to date service.
Mark's areas of special interest include cosmetic dentistry, crown and bridgework and endodontics (root canal treatments). He has in particular attended courses given by leaders in these fields and gained numerous post graduate certificates.
Mark's hobbies include swimmimg, squash, tennis and music production.
CONSULTANT ORAL & MAXILLOFACIAL SURGEON - Michael Amin BDS (Hons), FDSRCS (Eng), MBBS (Hons), FRCS (Eng), FRCS (OMFS)
I qualified in Dentistry in 1988 and in Medicine in 1996, followed by postgraduate training in Acute medicine, Orthopaedics and General Surgery.
I passed the Surgical Fellowship in 1998 and undertook higher surgical training in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, working at University College Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Eastman Dental Hospital.
I am on the specialist Register for both Oral Surgery and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and have been a Consultant at Heatherwood & Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since September 2004.
I work closely with ENT Surgeons, Oncologists and other support staff in treating patients with mouth, jaw and neck cancer including surgical reconstruction and rehabilitation with dental implants and prostheses.
My other interests include facial trauma, salivary gland disease, jaw joint problems, dentoalveolar surgery (impacted wisdom teeth, buried roots and jaw cysts) and chronic facial pain.
PRACTICE MANAGER - Maureen Glanville
Maureen has the difficult task of managing both the reception desk and the day to day running of the practice..
She has been at the practice for 25 years (she should retire but she won't go!). She is really well known locally and is first name terms with many patients. She will always welcome patients with a smile and use her best endeavours to get them seen as quickly as possibleHEAD NURSE - Bozena Bodek
She joined the practice 2 yrs ago. Before she worked in a surgery in the city where she has gathered some valuable experience in cosmetic Dentistry.
She obtained her qualifications in 2006.
She enjoys her job as a dental assistant but also uses her skills as a receptionist.
During her free time she works out at the gym, dances salsa and socialises with friends.
NURSE - Shahzad
She has a Bachelor Degree in Dental Technology from Italy 2002.
She worked as a Dental Nurse when she was studying in Italy training for to be a Dental Nurse. She enjoys her job and is planning to stay with us for a long time.
She likes sports and enjoys listening to music and travelling.
NURSE - Monalisa
Has been working as a Dental Nurse for over 12 yrs. She worked at the Strand on the Green Practice for 10 yrs.
She qualified as a dental nurse in 2001.
She loves her job. She has a small family. When she is not working as a dental assistant she is a part time Beauty Consultant. She also enjoys travelling.
Hygenist - Patricia Wedge
Studied dentistry in South America. Since graduating as a dental hygenist at Bristol University Dental Hospital, she has worked in the uk and abroad.
