Dr John Hughes BDS (N.Z)
John graduated from Otago University in New Zealand. He has been in practice in the UK since 1973 and started Strand on the Green Dental Practice in 1983.
Other info - John has a particular interest in preventive and restorative dentistry. When not in the surgery John is an avid All Blacks supporter and enjoys sailing, cycling and walking.
Dr Marc Hughes BDS (Wales)
Marc graduated from the University of Wales Dental School in 2000. He has worked in general practice in Cardiff from 2000-2006 and at Strand on the Green Dental Practice since May 2006.
Other info - Marc has completed courses in advanced restorative and cosmetic dental procedures. He has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and is a certified provider of the Clearstep and Inman Aligner braces. Marc enjoys rugby, tennis, squash and sailing.
Dr Lucinda Brown BDS (Hons)
Lucinda qualified in 1988 from the Royal London Hospital (University of London). She has been at Strand on the Green Dental Practice since 1993.
Other info - Lucinda regularly attends post graduate courses to keep up to date with the latest procedures and also has a particular interest in preventative and restorative dentistry. Lucinda enjoys films, Sudoku and travelling.
Dr Mark Harbottle BDS BSc
Mark initially gained a BSc in Biotechnology and Business Studies at Queen Mary's (University of London) before attending Guy's Dental Hospital from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1998. Mark has been at Strand on the Green Dental Practice since 2002.
Other info - Mark's areas of special interest include endodontics (root canal treatments), crowns, bridgework and cosmetic dentistry. Mark attends various post graduate courses in these areas to keep at the forefront of treatment developments. Mark's hobbies include swimming, squash, tennis and music production.
Dr Kate Hughes BDS (Bristol)
Kate graduated from the University of Bristol in 2001. She has worked in general practice in Hanwell from 2001 - 2009 and started at Strand on the Green in 2010. Kate's areas of special interest include preventative, cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
Other info - Kate's hobbies include travelling, hockey, golf, tennis and squash.
Patricia Wedge (hygienist)
Patricia originally studied dentistry in South America. Since moving to England she has graduated from Bristol University Hospital as a Dental Hygienist. Patricia has worked in both private and national health service practices and has enjoyed working with some of the best periodontists in the South East.
Other info - Patricia's hobbies include 18/19th century art, reading, classical music and golf.
The Nurses and Reception
The nurses
Bozena, Monalisa and Shazad make up the team of dental nurses at Strand on the Green and are integral to the high level of service we aim to provide. They work side by side with the dentists to ensure your consultation is as comfortable as possible.
Reception
Maureen Glanville is practice manager and has been at Strand on the Green dental practice since it started back in 1983. Knowing many of our patients on a first name basis, she is at the heart of the personal service you will receive at Strand on the Green.
Laura Hughes has recently joined Maureen on reception and assists her with the day to day running of the practice. Laura is also helping to integrate the new computer system and is responsible for the promotion of the practice.
